BECKY EATON

I have practised physiotherapy all my adult life and have specialized in neurology for almost 30 years. During my career I have worked in both the NHS and the private sector and have experience of delivering physiotherapy along the whole patient care pathway, from acute in-patient care and rehabilitation through to treatment in the community. I am fully trained in Bobath and have experience in spasticity management, orthotics, hydrotherapy, group exercise classes, and functional electrical stimulation (FES).

I incorporate the principles of Pilates, Yoga and normal movement into clinical practice. My aim is to always take a problem solving, practical approach to functional disability, developing bespoke treatment plans that evolve through constant clinical analysis. I have a special interest in stroke and believe in applying individually designed exercise for long-term management of the condition. After completing my degree (BSC Hons) in Physiotherapy at Coventry University, I worked in a number of central London Hospitals and the Victoria Memorial Hospital in New York.

I became a Senior Physiotherapist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery where I developed an understanding of the treatment of common and uncommon neurological disorders including neuro-psychiatry. Before leaving the NHS and moving into private practice, I was the Clinical Team Leader at the Sussex Rehabilitation Centre in Haywards Heath.

JENNY WOODGATE (ASSOCIATE)

I qualified as a Physiotherapist at the University of East Anglia, and subsequently specialized in the rehabilitation of patients suffering from the effects of various neurological disorders. I spent time as a locum in Australia and New Zealand where I gained valuable experience by working in the Brain Injury Unit at Wellington Hospital. On returning to the UK, I joined the NHS and became a Specialist Neurological Physiotherapist in the Sussex Rehabilitation Unit at the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath where I now work part-time. The Unit provides rehabilitation for adults with diagnoses of acquired brain injuries, Stroke, acute neuro-medical conditions and trauma-based injuries.

I also see clients in a private capacity in their own homes, at swimming pools, gyms and clinics and frequently work alongside community teams to provide a seamless service. I am skilled at assisting patients to identify and break down their goals and use objective measures to show progression and to help clients come to terms with their new abilities.

I am Bobath trained and have been a Committee member for the Sussex branch of Acpin (Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Neurology) since 2014.

LIZZIE LOCK (ASSOCIATE)

I qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2011 from the University of Brighton and have worked both within the NHS and privately. I have varied experience of working with all types of conditions including neurological disorders, respiratory, cardiac and orthopaedic conditions. My main areas of passion are stroke rehab and trauma. I have additional training in vestibular rehab.

Pre physiotherapy I qualified and worked a sports and holistic therapist and apply many of these skills and principles whilst practising physiotherapy. Presently I work with community NHS services in West Sussex and I treat people privately in their own homes.
